Garnets are the birthstone for January and gifted for the second year of marriage. The word garnet comes from the 14th‑century Middle English word garnet, meaning ‘dark red’ and is associated with ‘love’ and ‘power’.

Alex was first introduced to the Petra team when he came in with his mum Jan for a repair drop off appointment. Alex mentioned to our designer Beth that he was looking to design a green stone pear eangagement ring for his now fiance Mille.

 

We generally hold a small selection of coloured gem stones in stock, but often arrange for our gemstone specialists to provide a more for you to look at. We will discuss any particular shapes, cuts, sizes, colours and budgets that you are after so we show you stones that are going to be right for you. Sometimes this is a staged process so don’t worry if you’re not sure at the moment.
